Jeffrey W. Berkman is Chair Corporate/Securities Group, and a founding partner of Falcon Rappaport & Berkman, PLLC. Jeff is a corporate/business lawyer representing entrepreneurs, domestic and international companies, family businesses, non-profits and investors in connection with business structuring, business succession, domestic and cross-border transactions, mergers & acquisitions, venture capital, private equity, private fund formation, secured financing, joint ventures, securities law matters, commercial transactions/contracts and a wide-scope of business law matters.
Jeff has practiced law over thirty years, working with entrepreneurs, businesses and joint ventures in various industries, including venture capital/private equity, SaaS, technology, home service providers healthcare, food services, retail, fashion, e-commerce, management consulting, manufacturing, service providers, professional practices, brick and mortar companies, entertainment/film and emerging media.
Jeff was previously General Counsel of a multimillion-dollar venture capital firm with operations in the U.S., Europe and Asia.
Jeff has been a Director of both public and private companies.
He is the author Due Diligence and the Business Transaction: Getting the Deal Done (Apress. November 2013), and often writes about business law issues.
Jeff is also an Adjunct Professor at Touro Law Center. teaching Drafting Commercial Documents (and previously Business Organizations II); is a lecturer for continuing legal education classes and a presenter at a variety of seminars and business workshops.
