A Message from Dean Elena Langan
Dear Touro Law Community,
Touro Law Center is deeply affected by the terrorist events happening in Israel. We are shocked, saddened, and heartbroken at the unspeakable suffering and loss endured by the Israelis. We have collectively witnessed evil and we pray for those who have suffered from these horrific acts. Our hearts ache for immediate members of the Touro Law and larger Touro University community who have been directly affected, and there are many.
Members of our community are understandably in distress and we are committed to providing them with support and assistance. Counseling services have been put in place and will remain available for the foreseeable future. We will continue to work together through this crisis to support one another and begin to heal these wounds that will certainly leave scars that may fade, but will never completely disappear.
As Touro University President Dr. Alan Kadish stated, “Now is the time for all decent people everywhere to unite against evil and terror; to unite in faith in the goodness of humanity, and to unite in our collective ability to overcome adversity. Touro University is proud to stand with the people of Israel. We pray that this conflict concludes soon. Let us all fervently pray that we know of no more suffering and anguish.”
Sincerely,
Elena B. Langan
Dean and Professor of Law
