Touro Law Hosts 40th Anniversary Virtual Gala

Touro College Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center hosted a virtual 40th Anniversary Gala highlighting the school’s 40 year history. During the gala, several honorees were recognized including: The Legal Aid Society of Suffolk County, recipient of the Deans Medal; Dr. Errol D. Toulon, Jr., Suffolk County Sheriff, recipient of the Elected Official of the Year Award; Jothy Narendran ’96, co-managing partner at Jaspan Schlesinger, received the Paul S. Miller Award; and Builders Awards were presented to Lynne Adair Kramer, Director of the Court Observation Program, TAPS faculty advisor and adjunct professor of law at Touro Law; and Jeffrey Rosengarten, Senior Vice President of Operations for Touro College and University System.

“Celebrating Touro Law’s 40th anniversary throughout the past year has been a wonderful reminder of the school’s esteemed history and bright future ahead,” said Elena Langan, Dean and Professor of Law at Touro Law. “Students, faculty, and alumni have all played an integral role bringing the community together to recognize the school’s accomplishments this year while looking ahead.”

Emceed by Kathleen Rice, a proud Touro Alumna, and the U.S. Representative for New York's 4th congressional district, the evening included remarks from: Dean Elena Langan; the President of the Touro College & University System, Dr. Alan Kadish; Provost and Professor of Law, Patricia E. Salkin, the Law Center’s Board Chair, Howard Stein; as well as faculty, alumni, students, and other dignitaries. 

Bruce K. Gould, Chair of the 40th Anniversary Committee stated, “I am grateful that we were able to join together virtually and create memorable opportunities for alumni, students and friends. The gala gives context to our yearlong celebration and is the culmination of 40 years of milestones and accomplishments.”
