Jean Delisle ’10 Hired as New Assistant Director of Career and Professional Development
April 10, 2017Touro Law Center Dean Harry Ballan is pleased to announce the appointment of Jean Delisle ’10 as Assistant Director of Career and Professional Development. In this role, Delisle will work with students and alumni in securing internships, externships, clerkships, fellowships and full-time and post-graduate employment. She will provide career counseling and planning as well as plan informational career development programs and events.
Dean Ballan stated, “Jean brings a winning combination of intellect, experience and enthusiasm for the legal profession that will translate to success in this role. Having graduated from Touro Law herself, she is already a member of our family. We are so glad to have her working with our students and our alumni to realize their potential.”
Delisle received her Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Rutgers University and her Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, from Touro Law Center. While in law school, she was published in the Touro Law Review and served on its editorial staff. As a student, she was also a member of the Suffolk County Women’s Bar Association and interned at the firm Sullivan, Papain, Block, McGrath, & Cannavo PC in Manhattan.
Prior to attending law school, Delisle spent approximately 10 years in healthcare where she worked in public relations and marketing for a community hospital. After law school, she clerked for Hon. James M. Catterson in the New York State Supreme Court Appellate Division, First Department drafting judicial opinions and motion decisions. She then joined Smith, Finkelstein, Lundberg, Isler and Yakaboski, LLP, a general practice and litigation firm in Riverhead, New York. During her tenure with the firm, she represented clients in a wide variety of areas including municipal, land use, real estate, matrimonial, family, landlord/tenant, banking and education law. Delisle is admitted to practice in the State of New York and United States District Court, Eastern District of New York and is a member of the Suffolk County Bar Association.
