Touro Law Student Receives Scholarship from the PRBA
October 30, 2017Touro Law student Christina M. Gutierrez, full-time student in her third year, has been awarded a scholarship from the Puerto Rican Bar Association. She was honored at the Bar Association’s 60th Year Diamond Jubilee Anniversary Gala on Friday, October 20, 2017 in New York City.
The prestigious award provides Ms. Gutierrez with a $10,000 scholarship for her studies at Touro Law.
Dean Harry Ballan stated, "Christina is a credit to the school and a source of pride to everyone who knows her. We congratulate her on this well-deserved award and wish her all the best in every future endeavor."
Currently, Ms. Gutierrez works at the law firm of Pasternack Tilker Ziegler Walsh Stanton & Romano, LLP while finishing her last year of law school. She also volunteers in the law clinic, is president of the Latino American Law Students Association, and is active in the student body. In addition to law school and work, she is a proud wife and mom to a young son.
“I am so honored to have received this scholarship from the Puerto Rican Bar Association,” stated Ms. Gutierrez. “I am proud to be a law student and representative of the Latino community. This scholarship validates my hard work and further motivates me so that I may use my degree to advocate for others.”
Ms. Gutierrez hopes to become a litigator and intends to be a role model for young people and Latinas to look up to in the legal field.
