An introduction to the law of gratuitous transfers and decedents estates. Topics studied are: intestate succession; elective share; wills, gifts and trusts. Primary emphasis is on those aspects which are considered important to the planning of family property arrangements. Throughout the course, the relevant portions of the Uniform Probate Code and the New York Estates, Powers and Trusts Law are studied. (Required. Prerequisites: Property I and Property II.)
