Letter From the Editor

Since 1985, the Touro Law Review has been at the forefront of publishing articles and student notes addressing topics of practical and academic importance. Our mission is to provide suggestions and solutions for the legal community and produce a diverse and innovative journal that is committed to legal research and scholarship. The Touro Law Review publishes four issues annually that are comprised of articles and notes which undergo an extensive editorial process designed to ensure accuracy and clarity in their substantive content.

Membership with the Touro Law Review is one of the most prestigious achievements a student can obtain during their legal education. Students are afforded the opportunity to collaborate with professional authors and work one-on-one with a faculty advisor to publish a note on a significant legal issue.

Each year, the Touro Law Review is privileged to have the opportunity to host symposia and conferences where legal scholars are invited to speak on a particular area of the law and write articles related to their remarks. For the Fall 2023 semester, we are proud to host a conference in conjunction with Touro University and Associate Dean Rodger Citron entitled “The Future of the Opioid Crisis,” which will be the subject of Volume 39, Issue 4. This conference will analyze the legal and public health aspects of the opioid crisis and will examine the development of legal strategies to respond to future public health emergencies. This topic is particularly interesting to members of the Touro Law Review because our auditorium at Touro University Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center served as the setting for a historic jury trial against distributors and manufacturers involved in the opioid supply chain in 2021.
